“A pre-move customs consultancy makes all the difference”
When Dave and Linda were looking for a place to settle in Italy, they fell in love with Arona. After a few longer visits that resulted in the purchase of a house and learning the language for 4 years, it was time to move and Gosselin was there to assist them!
Moving internationally always involves a ton of paperwork. “The biggest challenge was getting all the documents in order for Linda’s dual citizenship. But our moving expert showed great patience with regards to our timeline. After that, moving our two cats was the main concern, but apart from one disgruntled kitty during the flight, they ended up settling really well in their new home,” says Dave.
Linda and Dave relied on a move consultant who helped them make a few big decisions and adjust expectations. “The pre-move customs consultancy made all the difference and reduced the stress of the move considerably. We went into the process knowing what documents we would need and despite some glitches along the way that delayed the process, customs accepted our documents without issue.”
Aside from the administration, there’s also the operational side of moving, but the whole process went smoothly. “The team that delivered our furniture was exceptionally good. They kept things moving – no pun intended – and everything was unpacked with care and placed where we wanted it to be. The few things that wound up with some damage during the move were meticulously documented.”

And now?
Dave and Linda are both retired and look forward to spend the next of our life and a relaxed pace. Doing some travelling, getting better at the language, and cherish new friendships. They wanted to live in the North of Italy because they’re not very comfortable with the heat in summer and preferred to be close to major transportation hubs like Milano. “There is so much to see here and we look forward to buying some new wine here because unfortunately we couldn’t take our wine collection with us. Luckily that shouldn’t be a problem here!”
