A safe flight for two birds
When Kim moved from the US to Georgia for work, she wanted to take her beloved birds with her to soften the absence of her family and friends. She hired Gosselin as the import company and is forever grateful for having her birds safely delivered to her, despite the strict regulations and difficulties along the way.
Kim will be overseas for three years and has had birds her entire life. They bring her comfort and joy, so Mango and Kirby simply had to follow her to Georgia. “Moving to a foreign country is already a stressful life event, especially because I am moving without my family. Without Mango and Kirby, it would be an extremely difficult transition as they bring me a sense of calm and comfort.”
There are many international rules about shipping birds and airlines also have their own regulations, so Kim hired an export and import company to assist her. She chose Gosselin for the import company as it came highly rated. Maia from team Georgia went above and beyond to make sure Kim’s beloved birds had a safe journey. “Due to a heat embargo by the airline, the birds were bumped from their original flight departing from the US. This had a ripple effect causing a one week delay and adding an additional stop in their journey.”
Since the birds flew separately from Kim, she was entirely relying on the hired companies for information. “Maia was instrumental in getting my pets safely to me. She worked tirelessly and was often my only point of contact, doing far more than what an import company is contracted to do. I felt like she really cared about my birds. Furthermore, when they arrived in Tbilisi, she made sure I could check on my birds’ health once they landed even though the customs office wasn’t open yet. I honestly don’t think I would’ve gotten my pets overseas without Maia and the great support from Gosselin!”
