Digital survey service

There’s a famous saying that difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations, and the corona crisis has certainly put our collective faith in this concept to the test. Gosselin is no exception, and in late 2020, the company teamed up with US-based digital survey provider Yembo, taking a giant digital step forward.

Digital surveys are the new normal

Gosselin is more than aware that Covid-19 has dramatically changed the way we look at things we used to take for granted. These days, most of us will only open our front doors to friends and family. This makes it clear that a digital solution for an administrative task is more important than ever before.

In the past few years, even though virtual surveys have been on the rise in the international moving industry,  physical surveys haven’t become obsolete.

Use your smartphone camera in a very smart way

“Starting on April 1, 2021, anyone interested in Gosselin’s household goods moving service can fill in the contact form on our website and will automatically receive an invitation to use Yembo’s AI-powered survey tool.” Iain Adams, Gosselin’s Yembo Project Manager and UK Regional Managing Director is visibly proud of the achievement. “We have trained many of our colleagues to use the system over the past few months, including how to review the AI-powered surveys and interact with our customers via the platform through email, the chat function or even text messaging. The results have been groundbreaking.”

With the help of your smartphone’s camera and Artificial Intelligence (AI), an accurate valuation can be created indicating the volume/weight of the goods you would like to  move. This valuation in combination with your origin and destination allows Gosselin to provide customers with a fast quote.

“We are aware of the fact that some audiences might not be very amenable to doing an ‘AI Self Survey’ using their smartphone. The system even offers solutions for these customers. ‘Smart Consult’ is a guided virtual survey that the customer performs together with our Gosselin professionals. The ‘On Site Solution’ in which our professional surveyors arrange to physically visit your home is also powered by Yembo. We will only resort to analog solutions (pen and paper) when a customer submits a specific request not to use a digital tool.”
