Rome team carries out annual FIDI packers training – a good packing minimizes damage risks

Gosselin values internal training and high-quality services. That’s why the Rome OPS team went on the annual FIDI packers training in Milano for a refresher’s course for our Italian crews.

The training is a 360° refresher course of all moving services with a specific focus on packing and stowing process. “Good packing and stowing techniques prevents most damages”, says Country Manager, Barbara Savelli. “Best practices were exchanged to minimalize risks connected to moving. Special attention is always given to the protection of the house prior to initiation of the services and the pre-post condition reporting done by the team leader aiming at preventing accidental property damages during loading/offloading operations.

At Gosselin, we uphold a certain standard and quality. It’s not just about internal training, but also a root analysis of possible problems and a focus on continuous improvement. It’s not the first time the Italian team has done this training. There’s a rotation system for the Gosselin offices in Naples, Vicenza, Rome, and Milano so every crew has a chance to participate.

“As the newly elected President of FIDI Italy, I feel a strong responsibility to ensure quality at every level of the supply chain. It is crucial to share our quality standards throughout the industry and provide the best services for our clients. Following the first meeting of the new FIDI Italy board on Jan. 22nd I will be able to implement planned actions for continuous improvement, together with my Italian colleagues”, concludes Barbara.

More Than a Move: A Friendship Built on Trust and a Love for Cats

The story begins in October 2024, when the customer arrived in Italy under a military contract and Neno was their designated move coordinator. They bonded over a love for cats and remained friends throughout their stay in Italy. When it was time to return home, two years later, Gary and Shannon immediately contacted Gosselin again.

Renoir, Degas, Signac, Pissarro, … It’s the names of the latest artist’s works that Gosselin moved for Christie’s, a world-renowned auction house. The four paintings were flown from the UK to Kazakhstan and were already the third assignment for the same customer.
