We move your world – even when it takes years

When an American customer fell in love with the Le Marche region in Italy, she stored her belongings in a warehouse and started looking for her dream home. Her journey from the USA to Italy was a rocky one, but the Gosselin team remained at her side, literally for years, until she was finally settled and ready to start the next chapter in her life.

“When I took the case, the customer’s belongings had already been packed, shipped, and stored in our warehouse for two years,” move coordinator Andrea explains. “The main difficulty with international moves like this is usually the customs’ clearance process, but we have a lot of experience with this kind of paperwork, and can minimize the inconvenience for customers.”

In the meantime, Kathy had found her perfect home, but the renovations still weren’t finished. “This meant we had to reschedule the delivery of her goods several times, but thanks to a lot of flexibility on both sides, everything eventually went smoothly. She bought pizza and drinks for our moving team, and they swept her floors in return,” Andrea laughs. “Moves like these are often stressful, but when there is mutual trust and understanding, it makes for a perfect combination!”

International moving

Kathy can only agree with the sentiment. “Finishing the house took longer than I thought it would, thanks to life and its unforeseen curve balls, but I’m now reunited with my belongings. The whole team was focused, professional, and compassionate. Andrea worked hard to get my things here before the tax took effect after I had cut the time short. He hung in there with me while juggling construction delays and the completion of the house. And the crew who delivered my things was great. They were fast and efficient, and tried hard to keep things organized for me, assembled what they could, and one of the guys even occasionally swept the floors.”

Unfortunately, two days after the move was finalized, the Le Marche region was flooded and so many people ended up with damaged homes and goods. “Luckily, Kathy’s newly renovated house was spared, but because she had downsized considerably compared to her house in America, not all of her belongings fit. She ultimately drove a van filled with kitchen items, some furniture, and a lot of clothing to the donation center,” Barbara Savelli, branch manager of Gosselin Italy, concludes.
