Verhuizingen Meys becomes part of the Gosselin Group

November 2021 - On October 26, 2021, Marc Smet (CEO of Gosselin Group) and Erik Meys (CEO of Verhuizingen Meys) reached an agreement in principle for the acquisition of Verhuizingen Meys and Meys Vastgoed based in Brasschaat by the Gosselin Group (Deurne). The employees and assets will be acquired by Gosselin and will fall under the Gosselin Group’s international moves division.

“The acquisition of Meys’ activities will be an important addition to our portfolio of services,” Marc Smet, CEO of Gosselin Group, explains. “In the future, Meys will become our expert for national moves and will represent a significant supplement for our self-storage division. Verhuizingen Meys concentrates on full-service moves, and has earned its spurs in this area thanks to the high quality of the professional services they offer. We are incredibly pleased with this acquisition.”

It was also an important day for Erik and Patrick Meys, the directors of Verhuizingen Meys. “For us, it’s essential that the activities and the client base we have built will continue to be served by a player operating at the same level. Gosselin’s international experience, its rich history and proven track record gives us certainty that our people, assets and clients will be in good hands, and that continuity will be guaranteed.”

“The name Meys won’t be disappearing just yet,” Marc Smet adds. “The name it has built in the region around Antwerp is too important for that. People will quickly find out that their international moves will now also be in good hands.” Erik and Patrick will remain in the picture. “We enjoy our work too much not to. We also want to be able to guarantee a smooth transition for our clients.”

Gosselin Italy moves furniture on yacht

Moving furniture from one boat to another

The assignment: move brand-new furniture from Taiwan onto a big yacht moored in Tuscany without toppling it into the water. Sounds like a job for Gosselin! The owner of the mega yacht, the Vianne, asked the Italian office to handle this move since it was one that required a lot of expertise.
