Certificate of Appreciation for Gosselin’s Bucharest branch manager

Cristinel Dinu, branch manager of Gosselin Bucharest, did such a marvelous job during the visit of Kamala Harris, the US Vice President, that he received special recognition for his efforts. We called Cristinel to congratulate him on this special occasion.

First of all, congratulations Cristinel. How does it feel to receive such a special ‘thank you?’

C: “I was surprised and impressed. They didn’t just send me an email; I actually was invited to the American embassy in Bucharest where the General Services Officer personally handed me the certificate, along with some other gifts from the Vice President’s office.”

You were the main logistics provider for the Vice President’s visit. What did that entail?

C: “The visit itself lasted only a day, so the project was short and intense, but manageable. There was a lot of preparation before her arrival since the Vice President travels with a large entourage of staff. We had to accommodate their demands, which sometimes meant answering a 5:00 a.m. phone call because they needed more trucks, or because trucks had to be canceled. Their needs fluctuated a lot.”

Sounds like hard work. Were there any additional challenges?

C (nods): “These VIP visits are always a busy affair. There isn’t a schedule communicated at the start for safety reasons, so you have to be at their disposal all the time and information is shared via a limited channel at the very last minute. All of our truck drivers were provided with special IDs and had to go through security checks before being allowed on the premises.”

Well, you did a good job. This Certificate of Appreciation recognizes general contributions that further the objectives of the State Department.

C: “We try to have a close relationship with all our customers. The relationship with the American embassy and the US government has grown over the years and we work hard to keep everybody satisfied.”

An international work experience

With Gosselin offices all over Europe, it’s almost impossible to know everybody. However, an international working experience can be the perfect way to get acquainted with colleagues from different countries. Roberta and Patrizio from the Italian office did just that, taking the opportunity to network and brainstorm work processes.
Road VS Rail transport

European Logistics goes Multi-modal!

Gosselin currently launched a new trial project combining the usual road transport with train groupage in Europe. It is the perfect combination between handling large volumes, less reloads, less damage risks, and focusing on sustainability at the same time.
Lasha Georgian team

Moving within the company

When Lasha approached John to offer his resignation because he wanted to leave Georgia, they sat around the table to look for a solution. At Gosselin, we do whatever we can to offer possibilities and growth to our employees.
