Diplomatic moving gets major update

We met up with Laurent and Madeline in Brussels, two names that are already very familiar to many diplomats that have moved with Gosselin. They talk about the added value of working for Gosselin as an expat, and tell you about our new fast and digital way to get a free quote.

Expats moving expats

Laurent manages diplomatic accounts in Belgium. “As the son of a Belgian serviceman, I learned at a very young age what it means to move around a lot, and to live abroad. I started at Gosselin three years ago, and began to learn the tricks of the trade. This initially happened behind the scenes in an internal position; it wasn’t long before I was participating in business meetings and conducting surveys at clients’ homes.”

Madeline is the moves manager for the services Gosselin handles for the Belgian and Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs. “A few years ago, I got an up-close look at the move for an embassy. I spent six months at the embassy building working on the move which took four weeks, preparing everything down to the last detail. I ended up in a completely different world, one in which security plays in incredibly important role. I still draw on that experience to this day in gaining a better understanding of the world of diplomats.”

New technology for quotes and surveys

There is a dedicated page on the Gosselin website where diplomats can request a free quote. People filling out the form can use their smartphone and conduct a digital survey, a very fast way to calculate the volume of your household goods. 

“Of course you can still opt to have a survey done through a visit to your home. For fans of speed and technology however, there is now a digital survey service. This means that our surveys can be done 100% corona-safe! It also means we’re ready for the summer period that is traditionally the busiest time of year for the moving sector,” Laurent concludes.
